The Iran Project : The spokesperson for the Iranian National Competition Council says the council is responsible for regulating the car market, and the Ministry of Industry is only the technical regulator of the car market.
According to The Iran Project, Sepehr Dadjoi Tavakoli made the remarks in an interview with Tasnim on Saturday.
He stated that the authority of the Competition Council cannot be ceded, and the car market is still a monopoly.
The competition council is responsible for regulating the car market, and in the amendments to the vehicle directive, only changes have been made in the processes to facilitate and speed up the implementation of the directive, he noted.
Tavakoli went on to stress that the technical regulator of the automobile market is the Ministry of Industry and it has gained more powers in the field of implementation.
Based on the reforms, as in the past, the car manufacturers send the production costs to the support organization and this organization calculates the price according to the 543 directive of the Competition Council, he added.
At this stage, instead of examining this issue in the Automobile Working Group of the Competition Council, the support organization directly calculates the requests within instruction 543 of the Competition Council and then sends the prices to the deputy of transportation of the industry ministry for approval and notification to the car manufacturers, he asserted.
The spokesperson concluded that amendments to the vehicle instructions should be notified to the Ministry of Industry after going through the administrative process, which takes about 1 to 2 days.
