The Iran Project : Iranian pilgrims are expected to soon visit Saudi Arabia for the Umrah Hajj pilgrimage following negotiations between the two countries, which have been described as positive.
According to The Iran Project,Those negotiations were held throughout last week in Tehran where delegates from Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry and the country’s aviation met their Iranian counterparts, and visited several airports across Iran, according to IRNA’s correspondent.
The talks are said to have taken place in a positive environment, with the Saudi side promising to cooperate to resolve the problem over the lack of permission for Iranian flights carrying Umrah pilgrims to the kingdom.
The Saudi delegation left Tehran on Thursday, and their government is expected to announce its final decision by this coming Friday.
Iran was due to send Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on January 3. However, the plan was suspended after Saudi Arabia did not issue the necessary permissions for Iranian flights.
A week ago, the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization said that told IRNA that the existing problems were technical and were not related to political, or financial issues.
