North Korean Parliament head to attend Rohanis swearing-in

Chairman of the Presidium of the North Korean Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) Kim Yong-Nam will participate in the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of Iranian President-elect, Hassan Rohani.
Kim is attending the event at Tehrans official invitation, the North Korean Yonhap news agency reported on Friday.

Meanwhile, Omani Minister of Heritage and Culture Haythim bin Tariq Al Said is also expected to travel to Tehran to attend Rohanis inauguration ceremony.

Rohanis swearing-in is scheduled to be held on August 4, one day after his endorsement by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian president-elect won the June 14 presidential election with 50.7 percent of a total of 36, 704, 156 ballots. Voter turnout in the election was 72.7 percent.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday that leaders and officials from across the world, except for the United States and Israel, have been invited to Rohanis inauguration event.

This is the first time that heads of state and leaders from abroad have been invited to attend the swearing-in of an Iranian president. Previous presidential inaugurations were attended by ambassadors.
