The Iran Project : Sirik nuclear power plant is expected to put into operation in 18 years, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami has said.
According to The Iran Project,Sirik nuclear power plant has been planned to have four 1250-MW reactors, Eslami told in an interview with IRNA that was published on Sunday.
The first phase of the construction of the power plant is underway, he added.
By the decree of the President Raisi, the necessary studies regarding the project have been carried out, the official stated.
Designed to have an electricity generation capacity of 5,000 megawatts, the power plant is part of broader plans to develop the Makran coastal region, Eslami has earlier said.
Construction work of the power plant kicked off in the southern coastal province of Hormozgan in presence of Eslami, on February 1.
