TEHRAN, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President-elect Hassan Rouhani has specified "probable" nominees for 17 positions in his cabinet and administrative offices and will "probably" introduce them in near future, semi-official ISNA news agency reported on Monday.
Among the nominees specified are Bijan Namdar-Zanganeh as the oil minister, the former Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations Mohammad-Javad Zarif as the foreign minister, and Mohammad Forouzandeh as the head of the Supreme National Security Council, said the report.
Namdar-Zanganeh served as the minister of energy from 1988 to 1997 and Iran's oil minister from 1997 to 2005. Zarif was also Iran's ambassador to the UN from 2002 to 2007. Forouzandeh, who was a member of Iran's Expediency Council for 2007-2012 and member of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, may also replace the incumbent chief nuclear negotiator of the country, Saeed Jalili.
In case the nominees are finalized by the incoming president, they should receive vote of confidence from the Iranian Majlis ( parliament).
