Basij commander: Egyptian crisis to end with Israel’s collapse

TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi underlined that the current crisis in Egypt will eventually result in the collapse of the Zionist regime.

“As Hezbollah and Hamas emerged from attacks on Lebanon and Palestine, resistance groups will emerge from the ongoing crisis in Egypt that will destroy Israel,” Brigadier General Naqdi said, addressing a conference in Tehran on Monday.

He noted that regional tranquility is achieved only by the destruction of Israel, saying, “The Zionists should know that the same way the Apartheid regime of South Africa is now a bygone past, the Zionist regime will also become a part of history …”

“The Zionist regime is not only involved in criminal acts and killing of the oppressed Muslims, the plots hatched in the Muslim countries are masterminded and directed by Israel, but (the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance movements) Hezbollah and Hamas have created a solid block against it and now the Egyptian people’s revolution is completing this (axis of) resistance,” he added.

Egypt plunged into violence after the country’s army ousted President Mohammed Mursi, suspended the constitution, and dissolved the parliament on July 3. The military overthrow followed days of mass protests against Mursi.

The army also declared chief justice of Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court, Adly Mansour, as interim president.

Earlier this month, the Egyptian Prosecutor General ordered the arrest of Muslim Brotherhood leaders, including the supreme leader of the group, Mohammed Badie, on charges of inciting violence.
