Morsi supporters set to hold large protest rally in Cairo

Supporters of Egypts ousted president, Mohamed Morsi, are set to stage another massive demonstration in Cairo despite heavy security presence across the capital city.
Allaa Mostafa, a spokeswoman for the Anti Coup Alliance, said pro-Morsi demonstrators will continue sit-ins and peaceful protests on Friday against the coup dtat in the North African country.

The demonstration is to be held a day after US Secretary of State John Kerry defended Egypts military for the ouster of Morsi on July 3, claiming that the Egyptian army acted at the request of millions in order to restore democracy.

Egypts Interior Ministry has called on Morsi supporters to leave their protest camps in the capital, promising them a safe exit.

According to the Egyptian media, security forces have prepared a plan to stop the sit-in protests, but have not decided when to implement it, as Egypts military backed cabinet is still hoping for a peaceful settlement of the turmoil.

The situation in Egypt remains extremely tense as supporters of Morsi have rejected the interim governments call for an end to their protests.

On July 27, at least 150 people were killed and scores of others injured in clashes during rival demonstrations by the supporters and opponents of Morsi across the country.
