The Iran Project : The head of the Iran National Carpet and Creative Industries Center said the country exported $13 million of handwoven carpets in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2024).
According to The Iran Project, the country’s export of handwoven carpets between March 21 and July 22, 2024, registered a 6 percent growth compared to last year’s corresponding period, Mohammadreza Zare Borzeshi said.
He added that 1,350,000 square meters of handwoven carpets were produced in the country in the four months, showing a six percent up compared to the same period last year.
Turning to the growing trend of production of handwoven carpets in the past three years, the official pointed out that carpet production in the country indicated an 11 percent growth in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2024) compared to a year earlier.
According to the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the country exported $11.5 million of handwoven carpets from March 21 to July 22, 2023.
