According to The Iran Project, commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi-Fard asserted that the country’s air defense force has become self-sufficient in the field of producing the detection, surveillance and signaling systems as well as training manpower.

“The busy skies of the Persian Gulf are under continuous monitoring by [Iran’s] air defense,” Sabahi-Fard said on Sunday.

He highlighted the preparedness of Iran’s southeast air defense zone given the high number of flights over the Persian Gulf, saying, “Today, with God’s help, this zone enjoys a watchful and agile unit.”

'Resolute response'

“The enemy is aware of the preparedness of the Islamic Iran’s personnel and defense systems and knows that any mistake will be met with a resolute response,” the commander warned.

In recent years, Iranian military experts and engineers have made remarkable breakthroughs in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient.

Iranian officials have underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiations.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has on numerous occasions called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities.
