The Iran Project : Iran and Pakistan have adopted identical stances on many regional and international subjects, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said.
According to The Iran Project, Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Islamabad on Sunday evening, the senior Iranian commander said Iran and Pakistan, known as two major Muslim nations in the West and South Asia, have much in common.
Tehran and Islamabad have adopted the same stances on many regional and international issues, the commander said.
He also hailed the growing military and security cooperation between the two neighbors, adding, “The two countries are cooperating to resolve the common challenges and turn their long common border into the border of friendship and an axis for the expansion of extensive economic relations between the two governments.”
Major General Baqeri said he is visiting Pakistan to deepen the military, security and economic cooperation between the two neighbors.
Heading a military delegation, he has traveled to Islamabad at the official invitation of the chief of Army Staff of Pakistan.
The top Iranian commander will hold meetings with senior Pakistani political and defense officials.
