TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans foreign minister confirmed Wednesday that President Hassan Rouhani will meet several foreign officials, including his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
During the visit, bilateral talks between Mr Rouhani and other countries officials will be held, and talks with Putin are also among such plans, Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters today.
President Hassan Rouhani will pay an official visit to the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek in September to participate in the SCO summit.
The SCO summit will be held in Bishkek on September 13 in the presence of senior officials from member and observer states.
The Iranian foreign minister also described Rouhanis forthcoming visit to Kyrgyzstan as assuming great significance for Tehran.
Iran, along with Afghanistan, India, Mongolia, and Pakistan has an observer status in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental organization that was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
