Islamabad, Sept 13, IRNA -- A senior Pakistan analyst on Friday said that participation of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit would open new vistas of cooperation among regional states.
The two-day SCO summit opened in Bishkek on Friday, bringing together heads of member and observer states.

The Iranian President delivered a speech at the summit. Meanwhile, he held talks with a number of participants on the sidelines of the event.

Talking to IRNA, Javed Siddiq editor of daily ‘Nawa-i-Waqt said that the SCO is an important forum and the cooperation among its member states would bring economic stability and prosperity to the region.

He said that the region where SCO members are located is going through a transitional phase and many changes are taking place in the area.

The analyst went on to say that withdrawal of foreign forces would change the situation in Afghanistan and which would be the most important agenda of the SCO meeting.

Javed Siddiq added that this region is rich in natural resources and the cooperation among the regional states would help in bringing economic stability and raising the life standard of common man.

Expressing his views, the journalist said that Iranian President Hassan Rohani can play an important role in bringing the SCO countries closer to each other.

“The participation of Iranian President in Summit would open new vistas of cooperation among regional states,” he pointed out.

Javed Siddiq said that presence of US and Nato forces is the major cause of instability in Afghanistan.

He added that people of Afghanistan are giving strong resistance to the foreign forces.

He said peace would be resorted in Afghanistan after withdrawal of foreign forces.

The editor strongly believed that Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan can solve their problems without any foreign help.

He said that the three neighbors must enhance their cooperation for rebuilding of Afghanistan.

Iran, along with Afghanistan, India, Mongolia, and Pakistan, has an observer status in the SCO.

The SCO is an intergovernmental organization founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
