US Senator John McCain has said that he is 杜ore pro-Russian than the government of President Vladimir Putin which 杜isrules the Russian people 鍍oday.
In an op-ed published by the Russian news website Pravda.ru on Thursday, the Republican Senator from Arizona said, 迭ussians deserve better than Putin.
的 make that claim because I respect your dignity and your right to self-determination. I believe you should live according to the dictates of your conscience, not your government, McCain said in his op-ed.
McCain痴 comments come as he called a recent diplomatic agreement between the US and Russia over Syria痴 chemical weapons 殿 loser while poll results showed about 80 percent of the American people supported the deal.
Moreover, the hawkish US senator has long been calling for military intervention in Syria amid an overwhelming opposition among America痴 war-weary public to any US attacks on Syria.
McCain痴 op-ed was in response to an opinion piece by the Russian President inThe New York Timesthat said a possible US attack on Syria 妬s unacceptable under the United Nations Charter and would constitute an act of aggression.
典he law is still the law, and we must follow it whether we like it or not. Under current international law, force is permitted only in self-defense or by the decision of the Security Council, Putin added in his op-ed.
The Russian President痴 article also angered President Barack Obama who boasted in his answer to Putin about America痴 鼎adillacs and Lincolns and its 吐ast food businesses in Russia to defend his remarks that the US is 兎xceptional.
Referring to Obama痴 speech from the White House on September 10 in which he said the US policy 杜akes us exceptional, Putin warned in his op-ed that 的t is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation.
展e are all different, but when we ask for the Lord痴 blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal, Putin wrote in his article.
