Iran Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has denounced the recent terrorist attacks in Iraq and warned that certain parties are undermining regional security by supporting and equipping Takfiri terrorists.
Security is an inseparable issue and it is impossible to cause insecurity in a country by grooming Takfiris, but to keep the region safe, Amir-Abdollahian said on Sunday.
Leaders of regional states, independent countries and freedom-seeking individuals cannot remain indifferent to the continuation of terrorist acts in Syria, Iraq and [other parts of] the region, the Iranian official stated.
He added that they cannot accept that the enemies of security and progress in the sensitive Persian Gulf and West Asia regions are easily violating Islamic values and principles as well as known regulations and treaties through unilateral measures which are merely aimed at serving their own interests under baseless pretexts.

At least 78 people were killed in bombing attacks in Iraq, including one against Shia pilgrims in northern Baghdad, on Saturday as a wave of bombings swept the country.

A major blast which targeted Shia pilgrims in the north of Baghdad killed at least 51 people and injured 107 others.

According to the United Nations, almost 1,000 people were killed and more than 2,000 were wounded in violence in Iraq in September, making it one of the deadliest months in recent years.

Iraqs Interior Ministry has said that militants have launched an open war in Iraq and they want to push the Middle Eastern country into chaos.
