Iran calls for widening Iran-IMF cooperation

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Director of Iranian Central Bank Valliollah Seif called for the further expansion of cooperation between Iran and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Seif attended a joint meeting with directors of central banks and economic ministers of the Middle Eastern and North African states, attended by International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde.

During the meeting, Seif appreciated the IMF's efforts to help economic situation of regional states.

He further referred to the economy of IMF member states affected by the international downturn and expressed his expectations from the organization aid to help improve economy of other states.

Seif also outlined the new conditions in Iran and planning made to adopt appropriate economic politics to improve the country's economy, and called for the IME managing director to have the required cooperation for use of international experiences of the organization's experts.
