TEHRAN (FNA)- Fars News Agency (FNA) inaugurated its bureau in Afghanistan on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by a wide host of senior Afghan and Iranian embassy officials.
A large number of senior Iranian and Afghan officials and elites participated in the inauguration ceremony of the FNA bureau in Kabul.
FNA Managing Director Seyed Nezamoddin Moussavi, Iran's Ambassador to Kabul Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Head of Afghanistan's Bakhtar News Agency Khalil Minavi, Dean of Journalism Faculty of Kabul University Vahid Qarval, Head of the National Afghan Journalists Union Mohammad Hashem Esmatollahi, religious leader Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Amin Mojahed, and members of the Afghan Parliament Abdolqayoum Sajjadi and Khodad Erfani were among participants in the event.
Addressing the ceremony, the FNA chief appreciated Afghan officials for their unsparing cooperation and issuing the needed license for operation of Fars News Agency's bureau, and thanked Afghans' goodwill in holding the inauguration ceremony.
He further underlined that "we (Iranians) share common interests with Afghanistan", while no foreign media feels sympathy for the Afghan nation as much as the Iranian ones do.
"Afghanistan's attractions, progresses, and reconstruction projects carried out in the Muslim country must be reflected" by the friendly media, Moussavi reiterated.
Moussavi also met with his afghan counterpart from Bakhtar news agency Khalil Minavi on Monday.
