Iran determined to expand energy cooperation with Russia
Moscow, Nov 2, IRNA Energy Minister of Iran Hamid Chitchian said here that Tehran is determined to develop cooperation with Moscow in energy and electricity fields.
Talking to IRNA, Chitchian said Iran is a major energy producer in the region, adding the Iranian experts have achieved great successes in the field of electricity.

Referring to Irans energy capacities, the minister said Tehran is ready to expand relations with the neighboring states in the area of electricity.

Iran, he added, exchanges electricity with all neighboring countries and exports 11 billion KWh of electricity to those states.

Chitchian described his talks with his Russian counterpart as positive, saying Iran-Russia electricity cooperation benefits all regional states.

He said Iran has no restriction for expansion of cooperation with the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The Iranian energy minister arrived in Moscow Thursday to attend the 44th session of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Electric Power Council.

There are two areas that can help local problems in central region.Yazd,Kerman and Esfahan area.

1- Treating high EC water ( salty water) and making it suitable for irrigation of pistachio trees. The majority of the farms are loosing pistachio trees and a great loss in the area.

With some research and combination of treatments one can save the pistachio plants. With some publicity and cooperation the cost can be collected in advance and there should be no burden on the government. We need for sure a reputable sponsor.
2- There is a great deal of potential for solar energy farms similar to the one between Las Angles and Vegas in the desert area where they use concave shiny metal surfaces and melt and heat Sodium Nitrate salts ( 430 C ) or some high temperature synthetic oil and generate steam and produce electricity. The entire system is massive but there is no big deal technologically. For making the concave metallic lenses a sizable amount of work can be generated. I feel we can generate enough electricity to sell to our northern neighbors and import our industrial raw materials.Essential commodity exchanged for our needed materials. The flat area between Kashan -Naeen-Yazd-to Kerman with suitable agricultural soil and plenty of sun shine can produce the best and tasty dry fruit products for the national and international use.
I hope Dr. H. Chitchian will get this comment. Ali Khezri-Yazdan (Ph.D.)
