Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah says Israel and some Arab countries are against any agreement between Iran and the six major world powers over Tehrans nuclear energy program.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing everything he can to make the Iranian nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 countries fail, Nasrallah said in a speech in Beirut's southern suburb of Dahiyeh on Wednesday.
He said the United States has warned that the alternative to a peaceful solution is war, adding that Tel Aviv prefers to push for war in the region for its own interests.
American officials said the substitute to a political solution is war and the American people do not want war. But Israel is still pushing for a war, he said.
All nations in the region, among them Lebanon, must know who is looking for war and who is looking for political solutions that preserve the rights of Arabs and Muslims, Nasrallah added.
The Hezbollah leader also pointed out that, like Israel, some Arab countries are strongly against any understanding between Iran and other countries in the world.
Some Arab countries are acting similarly to Israel and rejecting a political solution in Syria and any international accord with Iran, he stated.
Last week, Tehran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United states -- plus Germany discussed Irans nuclear energy program behind closed doors in Geneva, Switzerland. The intensive talks kicked off on November 7 and stretched into the early hours of November 10.
The two sides could not reach a deal in Geneva, but stressed that significant progress had been made and expressed optimism about the prospect of achieving a deal. The two sides agreed to continue negotiations on November 20 in the same venue.
Nasrallah also said the Tel Aviv regime is happy with the divisions in the Arab world and the conflicts in some Arab states, noting that it is part of an Israeli plot to have a divided region to impose its hegemony.
There is no doubt Israel is happy today with what is happening in our Arab and Islamic world, that is, the conflicts, the problems and the wars, he said.
Netanyahu has become an expert on Shia-Sunni affairs and this is Israel's project, to have all nations in the region weak and divided on a sectarian or ethnic basis, Nasrallah stated.
