Iranian projects to send man to space

TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) Irans head of aeronautic systems of Space Agency has said the project for sending man to space possible, but too expensive.
Mehr News quoted Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi speaking in the special panel for astronaut launch to space. The project was allocated $ 50m in government budget, which had not realized due to hard-hit currency devaluation, he added.



Sending Iranian astronaut to space is countrys necessity. We need to move in cooperation, since a country like China had implemented a 40-year project to manage current success in aerospace, he asserted.

The head of Center for Aeronautics Systems Research said that the Space Agency had set sending man to space as its defined projects. Due to the grand scale of the project, currently we are examining the suborbital launches, predicted to cost $ 270m, he added.

Mehr News also quoted Dr. Hassan Karimi in his address to special panel for astronaut launch to space. The space agency is assigned with space related missions. Countrys Holistic Scientific Map specifies acquiring the knowledge of design and installment of nuclear power plants, fusion energy, and sending man to space, and launching satellite, he said.

The countrys grand development plan cites sending man to space as priority A. it also maintains that by the year 2025, Iran should surpass other countries in the region in this field, Karimi said.
