Tehran, Nov 30, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi is to travel to Hague in the Netherlands on Sunday to attend the 18th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CSP) to the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The session is slated for December 2-6.
Iran as a member of the executive council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and also as a victim of those weapons has always had powerful presence in the CSP sessions.
Toppled dictator of Iraq Saddam Hussin had repeatedly used chemical weapons against Iranian troops during Iraq?s eight-year imposed war against Iran (1980-1989). Many of the Iranian war veterans are still suffering from effects of those fatal weapons.
Iran is to attend the 18th session of the CSP to the Chemical Weapons Convention as the current rotating president of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
