Iran deal restores political calm to Mideast: MP

A senior Iranian lawmaker says the recent nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers has restored "political calm" to the Middle East.
The recognition of the legitimate rights of the Iranian nation in the Geneva talks and the easing of sanctions have restored political tranquility to the region and Muslim world, Deputy Speaker of Irans Majlis Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard told reporters on Saturday.

The lawmaker pointed to Irans political and economic achievements in defiance of the Wests sanctions as the realities that compelled the West to accept Irans nuclear rights.

Iran and the six countries of Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany clinched a six-month deal on Tehrans civilian nuclear program in Geneva on November 24.

In exchange for Iran's confidence-building bid to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities, the United States and its allies have agreed to lift some of the existing sanctions against the country.

Aboutorabi-Fard further urged the Western countries to adhere to the terms of the nuclear deal and expressed hope that the West will adopt logical steps with regard to Irans nuclear energy roadmap.

According to senior Iranian nuclear negotiator Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Tehran and six major world powers are to discuss the specifics of the nuclear deal.
