A file photo showing installations at an Iranian petrochemical plant[/caption]ILNA: Iranian Tabriz petrochemical company has exported some 4,300 tons of petrochemical products, worth $6.57 million (based on official rate of 24,820 rials per USD) during last Iranian calendar month (Oct. 23- Nov. 22) which indicates increase by 400 percent in terms of volume and 500 percent in terms of value compared to same period of last year.
The company exported 36,000 tons of petrochemical products, $56.73 million during the first eight months of the current solar year (started on March 21).
The figures show an increase of 83 percent in terms of volume and 230 percent in terms of value compared to the same period of the preceding year.
Tabriz petrochemical company has produced 420,000 tons of petrochemicals in total during first eight months of the current solar year, of which some 229,000 tons have been sent to domestic and international markets, while 197,000 tons of the total production was used in the companys downstream industries.
Tabriz petrochemical company is located southern west of Tabriz city next to the Tabriz refinery. The company produces raw polymers, polyethylene, polystyrene and A.B.S., in different grades.
Main feed and consumed raw materials are naphtha, L.P.G, acrylonitrile, A.M.S, mineral oil, P.B.R and other chemicals that are provided by Tabriz and Tehran refineries as well as national petrochemical affiliated companies in the south of Iran.
Iranian Customs Administrations latest report, released on Dec.1 shows that the country totally exported 9 million tons of petrochemicals, worth $6.405 billion during the first eight months of the current solar year.
The figures indicate a decline of 13.8 percent in terms of volume and 10.73 percent in terms of value compared to the same period of the last solar year (ending on March 21).
The countrys petrochemical exports in the first seven months were around $5.592 billion, which makes a monthly average of $798 million, while the eight months figure stood at $813 million.
Iran exported $15 billion worth of petrochemicals in the calendar year of 1390 (ending on March 20, 2012), but the figure dropped by 33 percent in the next year reaching only $10 billion.
