Iran to launch specialized nuclear hospital

Tehran, August 15, IRNA Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi said on Saturday that the organization is making preparatory works to launch a specialized nuclear hospital.
Speaking to reporters, Salehi said President Hassan Rouhani has agreed with the plan and that the land needed for construction of the hospital has been nearly supplied.
Salehi said the executive measures for constructing the hospital will begin in the near future.
At present, more than one million Iranian patients are using Iran-made radioisotopes, Salehi said.
'While no other country in the Middle East is capable of this job, we have become an exporter of radioisotopes.'
Referring to GNP project in the country, Iran's nuclear chief said that based on the plan, Iranian radioisotopes will become standardized.
Iranian radioisotopes had the necessary standard levels so far, but with the implementation of the plan, the standards will keep up with international level so that Iran will become a major supplier of radioisotopes, Salehi said.
He said that once Arak reactor becomes operational, it will help produce various radioisotopes and the isotopes needed by the industries.
