Tehran, Jan 2, IRNA � An Iranian official said here on Thursday that some 9.9 million tons of commodities have been transited via Iran in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2013).
Director General of Iran?s Transportation and Terminals Organization for transit and border terminals affairs Mohammad Javad Atrchian said the figure showed a 6.2 percent increase compared to the corresponding period last year.

Atrchian underlined that some 96 percent of the commodities were transited via roads and the rest via railroads.

Imam port ranked first in terms of transiting the commodities followed by Bandar Abas, Lotf Abad and Sarakhs ports respectively, he added.
