TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that the country supports Iraqi government's measure for keeping unity and solidarity across Iraq.
"We support Iraqi measures for protecting its national unity and these measures help keeping national unity of the country," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham told ISNA.
"Iraq's former Vice-President Adel Abdol Mahdi plans to hold talks with our country's officials today in Tehran," she told reporters in her weekly press conference.
"We hope all Iraqi tribes and figures pay attention to this issue and this process will continue in the future," she said, adding that Iraq has shown a democratic image of itself in the past.
