Zarif calls for development of ties between Iran, Jordan

Amman, Jan 15, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif, in a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh, by referring to an appropriate ground for bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Amman, called for expansion of relations.

The two sides discussed expansion of parliamentary cooperation, development of economic cooperation through activating joint commissions, and cooperation of the two countries in the Non-Aligned Movement.


Considering existing problems in the region, Zarif referred to Palestine issue as a basic problem in the whole Islamic world and to Syrian crisis and problems caused by radicalism and underlined necessity of joint action of the regional countries to face the problems.

The Jordanian FM also said that contacts between officials of the two countries are important.

Nasser Judeh, referring to regional developments especially regretful events in Syria, underlined cooperation of countries to settle crisis in Syria through political means.
