TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran calls on the Western and the regional countries to stop supporting the militants in Syria, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen said.
Commenting on the Geneva II peace talks on Syria, the Ambassador said that success of the Geneva II talks depends on halt in certain states' support for the dispatch of terrorists and weapons to Syria
The diplomat told APA that Iran supports a Syrian-Syrian dialogue.
Unfortunately certain foreign countries tried to get rid of the Syrian axis of resistance or to weaken it severely by sending weapons and terrorists to Syria.
Pak Ayeen said that Tehran supports the agreement reached between the Syrian government and UN resident envoy for the exit of non-military forces from certain areas of Homs and dispatch of humanitarian aid to the crisis-hit area.
Iran believes that the move can help improve the humanitarian situation in the area and strip those of attempts to politicize the issue. I hope providing the Syrian people with humanitarian supplies must be accelerated, he said.
