TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed the hope that Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railroad will be launched soon.
"We are so happy that we have Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railroad project. Our Turkmen friends have been trying hard given the fact that most of the railroad passes across the country. Relations of the countries will be closer in case the railroad is accomplished," he told a press conference with his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov here in Tehran on Saturday.
He also highlighted cultural and historical commonalities and said that consultations between officials of the two sides will widen bilateral relations and serve interests of the two countries.
A delegation led by Meredov left for a visit to Tehran on Feb.15.
