TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Oil Minister said Tehran will formally announce its proposed price for natural gas supplies to Turkey in the near future.
Referring to the Turkeys request to double gas imports from Iran, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh told Shana that negotiations have been held to review the Turkish sides proposal to increase the gas export volume from 10 billion cubic meters to 20 cubic meters.
Asked for his reaction to Taner Yildiz, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources remarks saying Iran has agreed to lower the gas price, Zanganeh said his was unaware of such comments.
Talks have been held between Iranian and Turkish officials on considering a discount should the volume of exports be doubled but Iran has not fully agreed to this request yet. Zanganeh reiterated. We will formally announce our decision regarding the gas pricing.
Turkey has always expressed dissatisfaction over the high price it pays for Iranian natural gas.
Turkey fulfills its gas demand through imports. Iran has the worlds second largest natural gas reserves after Russia and is the second big supplier of natural gas to Turkey after Russia.
