China urges dialog to resolve Iran nuclear issue

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has once again reaffirmed her countrys stance on the importance of settling the Iranian nuclear issue appropriately through dialog and negotiation.
To solve the complicated and sensitive issue, we should have both the firm confidence in a negotiated peaceful settlement and an objective and result-oriented attitude, Hua Chunying told reporters at a weekly press briefing on Monday.
We hope that all parties will continue consultation on an equal footing based on the first step agreement, step up diplomatic efforts, demonstrate more flexibility and sincerity, seek common ground and resolve differences so as to move the negotiation process forward, Hua added.
Huas remarks came as Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council China, Russia, Britain, France and the United States -- plus Germany are set to hold the next round of nuclear talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Tuesday with the purpose of reaching a comprehensive nuclear agreement.

Iran and the Sextet of world powers started to implement the landmark interim nuclear deal on January 20.

Hua said that Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong will lead the Chinese delegation to the Vienna talks and added that the talks about Irans nuclear issue have entered a critical stage.
Pushing for positive results of the talks will help build up the good momentum of dialog and cooperation and maintain regional peace and stability. This requires joint efforts from all parties, the Chinese spokeswoman said.
She added that Beijing has been making tremendous efforts and playing an active and constructive role in the negotiation process.

She also expressed her countrys readiness to continue to work with all parties for a diplomatic and peaceful settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue.

As a permanent member of the UN Security Council and one of the six world powers involved in the nuclear negotiations with Iran, China has always supported the Islamic Republics right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and stressed that negotiations are the right approach to addressing the issue.
