Iran warns against foreign interference in Ukraine
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iranian foreign ministry called on the Ukrainian government and opposition to settle their differences through national talks, warning that meddling of the foreign states will further complicate the situation in the country.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham expressed concern over recent developments in Ukraine, and underlined that foreign interference in the countrys developments can deepen dispute and worsen the situation.

She said killing of a number of people and government forces in Ukraine in recent events are regrettable.

She expressed the hope that the Ukrainian government and the opposition reach national reconciliation and understanding soon.

At least 25 people died in clashes between protesters and police that began in Kiev's main protest square on Tuesday.

Russia on Wednesday condemned the deadly protests in neighboring Ukraine as a coup attempt, with President Vladimir Putin blaming the Ukrainian opposition for the biggest escalation of violence yet in three months of anti-government unrest.

"In the president's opinion, all the responsibility for what is happening now in Ukraine lies specifically with extremists," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, cited by the RIA Novosti news agency.

"Their actions can be seen and are seen in Moscow exclusively as an attempted coup d'etat," he said

Peskov said Putin and his embattled Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych had a "telephone conversation last night" but did not give details.
