Muscat:Iran and Oman plan to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the aviation industry, Mohammad Khoda-Karami, deputy director of Iran's Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), said on Tuesday in Tehran.
According to Iran's state news agency Irna, Khoda-Karami said that talks would be held on the signing of the MoU during the visit of ICAO Director, Alireza Jahangirian, to Muscat. The visit commenced on Tuesday.

"Currently, on an average, there are 11 flights between Tehran and Muscat every week, and if the MoU is signed, the frequency of flights and the number of flight destinations will increase," added
Khoda-Karami.

The ICAO director will discuss issues related to the aviation technology, airport development, and training during his meeting with Oman's officials, including his Omani counterpart, he added.

He also said that the Iranian official would visit the Muscat International Airport and Oman Air during the visit.
