Iranian cultural night staged at Berlin?s Tourism Fair

Berlin, March 8, IRNA -- Iran?s pavilion at Berlin?s 48th ITB Tourist Fair was the venue for a special Iranian cultural night showcasing Iranian food and music.
Iran?s Deputy Head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for tourism affairs Morteza Rahmani Movahed and Iran?s Ambassador to Germany Ali Reza Sheikh Attar welcomed the guests at the Iranian stand, among them Director-General for Culture and Communication at the German foreign ministry, Hans-Ulrich Seidt, according to the IRNA correspondent.

Rahmani Movahed stressed in his opening remarks that the Iranian government was determined to promote tourism in the country.

He voiced hope that Iran?s presence at international tourist fairs could help boost Iran?s tourism industry.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Attar pointed out that around 10,000 German tourists visited Iran last year.

He said Iran?s diplomatic missions in Germany would grant visas to German tourists within less than a week.

Addressing the guests, the German foreign ministry official expressed hope that Iran?s presence at the ITB tourist exhibit would lead to more Germans visiting Iran.

Seidt pointed to good prospects for better bilateral cooperation, especially in the cultural sphere.
