Zarif underlines regular consultations between Iran, Greece

Tehran, March 15, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed the need for regular talks between Iran and Greece and for exploring avenues to develop mutual cooperation in various fields such as energy, gas, petrochemical and air and maritime transportation.

According to Foreign Ministry?s Media Department, Zarif in a meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos Saturday called for further activation of parliamentary diplomacy through exchange of parliamentary delegations.


He also underscored the significance of dialogue among religions and cooperation in the campaign against narcotic and human trafficking.

For his part, Venizelos, also deputy prime minister, appreciated Zairf for inviting him to visit Tehran and recalled the historic record of bilateral ties.

Referring to his second meeting with Zarif, he said that the meetings will help promote ties in different areas.

The two foreign ministers explored ways of promoting ties in different political, economic and cultural fields and discussed regional and international issues.

They also discussed the latest developments in Syria and Ukraine as well as Iran-5+1 talks over Tehran?s nuclear program.
