Kerman, March 25, IRNA � The prominent Iranian historian and author Mohammad Ebrahim Bastani Parizi passed away here in Tehran Tuesday morning.

The Tehran University professor passed away due to old age. He was 93.

Funeral procession for the unique figure of the Iranian contemporary histroy will be held Thursday morning in front of the Faculty of Literature in Tehran University where he used to teach as a faculty member.

Bastani Parizi is best known for his books mostly popular reads on topics such as the history of Iran and the history of his hometown Kerman.

Several Iranian officials have also offered condolence messages over the death of well-known historian and author.
