TEHRAN, April 6 (MNA) The head of Irans Civil Aviation Organization has said the country's airlines have handled 2,236,757 passengers in New Years holiday.
Alireza Jahangirian told Mehr News that the number of flight permits had a 31 per cent increase. New Year mass travels began on March 15 and continued into April 4. In 21 days of holiday, 18,804 flight permits had been issued, of which 15,640 flights was handled, he added.
Since March 16, 981,868 passengers have been handled by 5,987 national and international airlines visited overseas destinations and 1,254,890 passengers have been handled by 9653 domestic airliners, said the head of ICAO.
He also said that the total number of passengers had shown a 32 percent increase, with flight permissions showing a 31 percent increase as well.
