Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani will discuss the further expansion of ties as well as matters of mutual interest during his visit to Belarus.
Heading a parliamentary delegation, Larijani arrived in Minsk on Wednesday to pay an official visit to the European country at the invitation of his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Andreichenko.
During his visit, Larijani is scheduled to hold talks with Belarusian officials, including President Alexander Lukashenko.
Upon his departure at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, he said that Belarus is Irans partner in different sectors and praised ties between the two countries as good.
He said that Iran and Belarus also hold similar views with respect to regional developments, adding that he will discuss the improvement of ties during his visit.
During a meeting with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey in Tehran in March, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani pointed to Tehran-Minsk friendly, cordial and strong relations and stressed the need to use the existing potentials between the two countries to enhance bilateral ties in diverse areas.
