
Mehr News quoted Leaders official website that Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani had made a proposal to grant clemency to a number of military convicts at the eve of anniversary of liberation of Khorramshahr (the southwestern Iranian city which was seized by Saddam army during the imposed Iraqi war against Iran 1980-1988 and was liberated by Iranian soldiers on May 24), and the occasions of Eid al-Mabath (when Prophet Mohammad was appointed to the Prophetic Mission and his prophethood commenced from the same day).
Leader agreed with the proposal on Thursday to pardon or discount sentences of 72inmates convicted by judicial organization of the armed forcesat the eve of anniversary of liberation of Khorramshahr and the occasion of the great eid for Muslaims, Eid al-Mabath.
