TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Ambassador to Belgrade Majid Fahimpour condoled with the Serbian government and nation over the recent devastating flooding in the European country, and voiced Tehran's readiness for dispatching humanitarian aid to Belgrade.
"The Iranian nation and government are very sorrowful about the tragic event of flood in Serbia and they will soon send (10 tons of ) humanitarian aid to that country," Fahimpour said on Sunday.
He noted that the Iranian embassy in Belgrade has already allocated 5,000 euros in cash as humanitarian aid to the flood-hit Serbian people.
Earlier this month, Serbias Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said the country has been affected 10 times more than other countries in the Balkan region.
In Serbia, floodwaters have swallowed up entire towns and villages as well as parts of the countrys main power plant, Nikola Tesla.
