TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran has managed to produce catalysts used in producing Euro-4 gasoline as it is making efforts to distribute premium fuel across the country.
The Iranian company Exir Novin Farayand Asia has launched the production line of the catalyst with the cooperation of Supplying Petrochemical Industries Part, Equipment and Chemical Engineering Company (SPEC).
The newly-established factory will supply the Iranian petrochemical and refining industries with eight catalysts needed for producing high-quality gasoline.
The products of the company are to be used in Bandar Abbas, Nouri and Bou Ali Sina petrochemical plants as well as other refineries across the country.
During the inauguration ceremony of the product, Deputy Petroleum Minister for Petrochemical Affairs Abbas Sheri Moqaddam said nobody envisaged that Iran would be capable of producing the catalysts.
He expressed the hope that the company could export its products to the international markets.
Sheri Moqaddam also called further efforts to produce other petrochemical catalysts required for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
Iran has significantly expanded the range and volume of its petrochemical production over the past few years.
The Islamic Republic, which holds the worlds third-largest proven oil reserves and the largest natural gas reserves, is determined to become the biggest petrochemical producer in the Middle East.
