Tehran, June 8, IRNA -- Four Iranian documentaries produced by Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) were selected as the winners of Rabee Al Shahada (film) Festival in Iraq.
A number of the world prominent Shia artists and figures attended the ceremony which was held at Imam Hussein?s (Peace Be Upon Him) holy shrine in Karbala.
Alireza Sobhani, the director of the documentary titled ?Farsh-e Saarallah?, won a plaque of honor and a cash prize of $5,000.
A plaque of honor as well as $4,000 were awarded to Mahmoud Ghafari, the director of the documentary titled ?Gel Giran?.
Ali Mohammad Naser-Bafghi, the director of ?Naghl-e Khoda? (God?s Narrative) won $3,000 and a plaque of honor at the event, according to Iran Daily?s Monday edition.
The panel of jury?s special prize, including a plaque of honor and $1,000 was given to Allah Karam-Rezaeizadeh the director of the documentary titled ?Rasm-e Asheghi? (Love?s Method).
The panel of jury at the fest included an Iranian film producer, Mojtaba Raee, an Egyptian actor, Ahmad Maher, two Iraqi one Egyptian directors.
A total of 57 documentaries were screened at the competition section of the fest.
