A Look at Iranian Newspaper Front Pages on October 4

Iran Front Page- IFP has taken a look at the front pages of Iranian newspapers on Wednesday, October 4, and picked headlines from 19 of them. IFP has simply translated the headlines and does not vouch for their accuracy.

The top story in todays newspapers was the statements of Irans Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in a meeting with officials of the Hajj and pilgrimage organization during which he emphasized the need to take advantage of the opportunity for the Iranian people during the Hajj ceremonies to communicate with other Muslims and elaborate on the policies of the Islamic Republic. With the end of the return process of all Iranian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, Irans leader was met by the head of Iranian pilgrims, and the organizers of this years Hajj. Ayatollah Khamenei said that there exists a very dangerous, active, and well-equipped front against Iran. The Leader of Iran said in order to confront the dangerous fronts, insightful and effective propaganda in return is needed and Hajj is one of the main centres for that.

Another top story was the death of former President of Iraq and the Kurdish politician, Jalal Talabani which was almost covered by all the morning papers on Wednesday.

The remarks by the US Secretary of Defence on the importance of Washingtons adherence to the nuclear deal with Iran and the Iranian Presidents emphasis on expanding ties with the EU to boost cooperation in the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) were highlighted in todays papers in a situation that in a matter of days Irans commitment to the nuclear deal has to be confirmed by the President of the United States, and it has prompted speculations on his decision to withdraw from the nuclear agreement with Iran.
