Malaysian police arrests woman who married IS fighter over Skype: Reports
Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman in Kuala Lumpur who married North African IS fighter over Skype two weeks ago and was going to join him in Syria.

MOSCOW, January 3 (Sputnik) Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman inKuala Lumpur who married a member oftheIslamic State(IS) radical group overSkype two weeks ago, The Straits Times reported Saturday.
"We believe that she was first attracted toIS afterwatching its propaganda video onYouTube inNovember," Malaysian Police Inspector-General Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said asquoted byThe Straits Times Saturday.

"She then got toknow the North African fighter and eventually married him. He managed topersuade her tojoin him inSyria," the inspector-general added.
IS, a radical Sunni group, also known asthe Islamic State ofIraq and Syria (ISIS) or the Islamic State ofIraq and the Levant (ISIL), has taken control ofvast areas inSyria and Iraq, proclaiming the establishment ofan Islamic caliphate onthe territories it had ceased.
ISextremistsare known fortheir brutal tactics, such aspublic crucifixions and beheadings ofcaptured prisoners, including European journalists. The radical Sunni group has released several videos ofsuch executions onthe Internet.

Some 60 nations have joined an international coalition created bythe United States inSeptember, 2014, withthe aim oferadicating IS militants. The coalition has been launching airstrikes againstIS targets inIraq and Syria.
