Iranian border guards have arrested 10 members of terrorist groups who were attempting to infiltrate into the country through eastern and western borders, Iran�s police chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari says.

�Outlaws and anti-revolution�groups have been making movements�in border regions�in�recent months and we took pre-emptive and preventive�measures to counter these anti-revolution�groups,� he told reporters on Monday.

He added that the terrorists failed to sneak into the country.

The police chief emphasized that Iran has a satisfactory�security situation and expressed hope that the country would improve border security in cooperation with neighboring states.
